In January 2025, consumer confidence indicators in Poland showed improvement compared to the previous month, according to the Central Statistical Office (GUS).
The Current Consumer Confidence Index (BWUK), reflecting present consumption trends, rose by 1.6 percentage points (pp) to -15.1 but remains 2.5 pp lower than in January 2024.
The Leading Consumer Confidence Index (WWUK), indicating anticipated trends in individual consumption, increased by 1.6 pp month-on-month to -9.9, although it is 6.1 pp below the level from January 2024.
Despite the monthly improvement, both indices highlight ongoing caution among consumers compared to the previous year, with future expectations still in negative territory.
