Deputy Prime Minister Jadwiga Emilewicz's departure from the Porozumienie party (Covenant) was her personal decision; her behavior in various situations indicated a gradual departure from the program of our grouping, emphasized Magdalena Sroka, the spokeswoman for the Covenant on Saturday.
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Development Jadwiga Emilewicz informed PAP that she had decided to leave the Covenant. She argued this with the fact that in the "very serious crises of recent months" she was with the leader of the Covenant, Jarosław Gowin, "on the opposite sides of the dispute. She announced that after her departure she would still be a member of the PiS club.
“We wish you all the best on the new path of political life,” Sroka wrote on Twitter.
In an interview with PAP, Emilewicz emphasized that in connection with the decisions of the leaders of the United Right, each of the coalition parties (Covenant and Solidarna Polska) will have one ministry, and Jarosław Gowin decided to return to the government.
"But this is not the only reason I made the decision to leave the Covenant. It is a very difficult decision for me, because it was Jarosław Gowin, who introduced me to politics, and we have founded and created the party together for years. However, among all the available options, this one seems to be the most honest," the current deputy prime minister said.
After Emilewicz's departure, the Covenant will have 17 deputies and two senators in its ranks.
