The Polish government is expected to discuss energy protection measures for 2024 during an upcoming Economic Committee meeting and announce decisions within the next two weeks, according to Climate and Environment Minister Paulina Hennig-Kloska. The government's aim is to extend energy price caps and potentially offer energy vouchers. Extending the current maximum energy price would cost around PLN 4.4 billion, with energy vouchers estimated at an additional PLN 1 billion.
Though only PLN 2 billion has been allocated so far, the Finance Minister is seeking additional funds. Both the Prime Minister and party leaders support extending these protections, with the final decision anticipated after the committee meeting next week.
