BrainScan, a NewConnect-listed company, is developing AI algorithms for brain diagnostics and is considering issuing shares to raise capital. Their AI system analyzes CT brain scans and is already in clinical trials. BrainScan has received international recognition, including an RSNA award, and EU MDR certification. The company aims to integrate AI in medical diagnostics to speed up detection of neurological changes, saving both time and money for healthcare facilities.
With quarterly R&D costs of about PLN 2.5 million, they rely on grants and investor funding. However, public healthcare reimbursement for AI tools remains a challenge, as no AI solutions have been certified for reimbursement in Poland yet.
