Report: just over 53% of Poles watch traditional television, mostly elderly

Over 53% of Poles still watch traditional TV daily, treating it as a routine or background noise, especially seniors aged 75–80, low-income individuals, and residents of mid-sized cities. Despite this, viewership is gradually declining, especially among younger people, due to the rise of streaming platforms and YouTube. Traditional TV is most common among retirees, homemakers, and the unemployed, who have more free time.
While 24% watch a few times a week, nearly 10% don’t watch at all. Experts note that TV must adapt to changing habits, competing with on-demand, ad-free, personalized content.
The shift reflects broader trends in media consumption, digitalization, and generational preferences for flexibility and content control.
