Export beyond volume
On 11 December 2025, the fifth European Trade and Export Forum was held at Warsaw’s Hotel Bristol, convening business executives, policymakers, financial institutions, and academics to assess the future of international trade and Poland’s export strategy.
Discussions centered on how European companies can build globally competitive brands while navigating geopolitical volatility. Key themes included supply-chain resilience, nearshoring, the growing role of e-commerce, and the use of new technologies to support cross-border sales.
The forum opened with a keynote by Janusz Lewandowski, MEP and former EU Commissioner, who outlined the European Union’s instruments for defending the single market against unfair competition and stressed the importance of strategic autonomy. Panel debates followed on the strength of European brands, digital marketplaces as export channels, and safeguarding supply chains amid rising geopolitical risk.
The event concluded with a forward-looking debate on Polish exports, emphasizing a shift from short-term export growth toward lasting international presence, innovation, and closer cooperation between business and public institutions.
