G7 to impose sanctions on Russian diamonds
Sanctions on Russian diamonds from the G7 countries will come into effect in January. The decision to take decisive action against this still-unblocked sector of Russian trade was taken by G7 representatives yesterday (December 6).
Russian diamonds are considered to be of exceptional quality; the characteristic cut of this country is also appreciated. In 2021, the revenues from the trade in Russian diamonds amounted to approximately $4 billion.
