GUS: in ‘23, expenditure on environmental protection amounted to PLN 139 bln
Environmental protection expenditures in 2023 amounted to PLN 139 billion, marking a 32% y/y increase, according to the Central Statistical Office (GUS).
As a percentage of GDP, these expenditures accounted for 4.1%, significantly above the 2.1% average for European Union countries.
Per capita, spending on environmental protection in 2023 was PLN 3,688, compared to PLN 2,787 in 2022.
