Investments in LEGO are better than in gold, stamps, wine, or works of art

In the world, the value of the used LEGO bricks market grows by 11 percent per year, according to an analysis of employees of the Moscow University of Economics. This means that buying colored bricks gives you greater benefits than collecting stamps, wine, artwork or playing the stock market, or investing in precious metals.
Russian experts examined the prices of over 2,300 LEGO sets from 1987-2015. The most expensive of them is the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars and Death Star II. Interestingly, the greatest increase in the value of Danish bricks took place during the financial crisis in 2008.
Of course, not all bricks are equally expensive. A jumble of different boxes that fit together, but it is difficult to build something meaningful out of them, can even get cheaper from year to year, but there are also pearls that increase their value by several hundred percent every year.
In addition to the Millennium Falcon from the Star Wars and Death Star II series, the most appreciated are Imperial Star Destroyer, and sets from the Creator series for erecting buildings, e.g. Cafe on the Corner or the Taj Mahal. Kits allowing the construction of models of cars or trains are also in demand - this is what collectors are looking for the most.
