Jeff Bezos's assets grew by more than $57 billion in 2020. The fortune of the creator of Amazon consists largely of the shares of Amazon. At present, the company's price is around $2,890, and for a while it broke over $2,900.
Amazon shares have risen 56.4 percent since the beginning of 2020. If this rate of growth continues, Bezos will be the first man - officially and nominally - to reach $200 billion in 2020.
Already, however, with an amount of $172 billion, Bezos catches up with the five richest businessmen in history. What’s more, he gets to fourth place, beating John Jacob Astor, considered the first multimillionaire in US history. It is worth remembering, however, that the historical value does not apply to the nominal amount of assets, but to the ratio of the fortune held to the country's GDP in a given historical period.
