Łódź University of Technology (PŁ) became the leader of a consortium of universities from Europe and Asia, which received €1 million for the implementation of new training programs in the field of automation and power engineering in Nepal, Bhutan and Indonesia.
Ewa Chojnacka, the university’s spokeswoman, explained that the application was submitted in the competition for capacity building in the higher education sector in the so-called Erasmus + central action, directly to the Executive Agency in Brussels. Only 163 out of 840 projects were accepted for funding, two of them are coordinated by Polish universities: the Łódź University of Technology and the Jagiellonian University from Kraków.
The project 'EU-Asia Cooperation for Available Education in Intelligent Power Systems', coordinated by the Institute of Electrical Power Engineering at the Łódź University of Technology, has been implemented since October 1, 2019 in cooperation with eight partners. These are universities from Scotland, Greece, Nepal, Bhutan, and Indonesia.
