On Wednesday, consultations will begin on Poland's first law regulating artificial intelligence (AI), announced Deputy Minister of Digitization, Dariusz Standerski. During the Banking & Insurance Forum 2024, Standerski revealed that the proposed law will include a requirement to publish information about the use and forecasted demand for computing power. He emphasized the growing energy demands from AI and cloud computing solutions, noting that current energy sector challenges are underestimated in light of AI developments.
The law will introduce a legal obligation to report computing power usage, forecast future demands, and provide recommendations. The draft law on AI systems will be published on Wednesday.
