Minimum wages in Poland rising, but we're far from the West

In Luxembourg, the minimum wage is so high that an employee can earn a net PLN 1 million in less than eight years. In Poland, it would take 30 years. We're striving to catch up with the leaders. With the increase in the minimum wage in Poland from the middle of this year to the middle of next year (from PLN 3,600 to 4,300 gross), we will see an increase of about €150. In Germany during the same period, the lowest wage is set to increase by only €67.
Among the top ten countries with the highest minimum wages, eight are European nations, and two are from Down Under – Australia and New Zealand. However, in many wealthy countries, the practice of setting a top-down minimum wage is not known.
Luxembourg boasts the most attractive minimum wage. An adult and unskilled worker there receives at least €2,057 net monthly, equivalent to PLN 9,170.
