When the government changed a year ago, Polish entrepreneurs hoped for an improvement in business conditions. Data from the Ministry of Development and Technology reveals that nearly 142,000 sole proprietorships were terminated in the first three quarters of 2024, a 2.2% decrease from the same period last year. Meanwhile, suspension requests rose by 5%, indicating potential future closures.
Experts observe a lingering pessimism among business owners. According to Łukasz Goszczyński from GKPG, while conditions have somewhat stabilized, the changes aren't entirely satisfying. Grzegorz Kostrzewa from ProPrawni notes that while uncertainty has lessened, high operating costs now dominate concerns. Entrepreneurs have adapted to rising energy and fuel prices but still face challenging conditions.
