New rules for LLMs in EU, companies need to prepare

In August 2025, key provisions of the EU AI Act come into force, regulating the use of large language models (LLMs) across the EU, including Poland. The rules, targeting General Purpose AI (GPAI), require compliance from both AI developers and companies integrating such tools. According to Jakub Czerwonka from Autopay, the most visible effect for businesses will be delayed access to new AI features, as seen with ChatGPT’s web agent, which launched globally excluding the EU.
These delays have a positive side: Europe can observe early deployments abroad, avoid mistakes, and ensure safer tools for users. Stricter rules may challenge foreign startups but benefit European firms, fostering local innovation. Businesses must also meet transparency obligations, like informing customers when they interact with AI, driving more professional and compliant AI implementations.
