Only 3% of Poles Plan to Start a Business, Report Shows

Despite perceiving company formation in Poland as relatively straightforward, just 3 percent of Poles intend to launch a business within the next three years, far below the European average of 15 percent, according to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor report. The main barriers include taxes, bureaucracy, and fear of failure.
Although 52 percent of respondents see business opportunities, most hesitate to act.
“Poles recognize market chances and value entrepreneurs, but too rarely take this step,” Krzysztof Gulda, acting head of PARP, said.
Experts stress that building a culture of entrepreneurship and supporting young firms remain essential.
