Defense spending will reach a total of up to 4.2 percent of GDP next year. The information was provided by Deputy Finance Minister Artur Soboń. The draft budget law for next year assumes spending on this purpose at 3 percent of GDP, Soboń reported. Budgetary and non-budgetary spending on defense, meanwhile, will reach a total of up to 4.2 percent of GDP. This is the highest rate among NATO countries, the deputy minister reported.
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced earlier this week that the government plans total defense outlays at around PLN 130-140 billion in 2023. Of this, PLN 98 billion is to be budgeted.
