Poland signed a framework agreement between PERN and NATO’s Investment Organization to join the Central European Pipeline System (CEPS). The project, worth around PLN 20 billion, includes building a 300 km fuel pipeline from the German border to PERN’s base near Bydgoszcz. CEPS already spans 5,300 km across Western Europe, securing fuel supplies for NATO forces. Integrating Poland into this network will enhance both military and energy security, reducing reliance on Gdańsk’s Naftoport and rail bridges as supply bottlenecks.

A feasibility study, funded with PLN 60 million from NATO, will take two years. If approved, much of the investment may go to Polish firms, potentially extending to civilian infrastructure like the future CPK airport.
