Polish government makes moves for deregulation, including changes to 40 laws

On February 27, 2025, the Polish government is expected to approve a long-awaited deregulation bill aimed at simplifying economic and administrative laws. The Ministry of Development has prepared a package introducing changes to 40 laws, covering areas such as taxes, social security, and construction law.
Key proposals include preventing tax authorities from launching fictitious proceedings to delay tax expiration and digitizing leasing agreements. Business groups also pushed for shorter inspections for micro-entrepreneurs and a six-month transition period for new tax laws.
Additionally, a separate bill proposed by PiS seeks to raise the one-time depreciation limit to PLN 1 million to encourage investment. The government is also easing construction regulations for small wind turbines. The bill’s approval signals growing political support for economic deregulation.
