Following the European Parliament elections, many critical issues will continue to be addressed by the new European Commission. This includes the European Green Deal and solidarity efforts with Ukraine.
Bartłomiej Balcerzyk, acting director of the European Commission Representation in Poland, emphasized the continuity of these initiatives, stating, "Many topics currently handled by the Commission will be carried forward by the incoming Commission, including actions on energy independence and cybersecurity."
The European Green Deal remains a priority, with potential adjustments due to agricultural protests. The EU's commitment to supporting Ukraine will also persist, reflecting the solidarity shown by member states and EU institutions.
Additionally, energy efficiency and the directive on building energy performance are expected to remain focal points in the Commission’s agenda, promoting sustainable practices across the Union.
Since the onset of Russia's full-scale aggression on Ukraine, the EU has provided €98.5 billion in support, underscoring its steadfast commitment to assisting Ukraine through these turbulent times.
