Report: PLN 15.21 bln of revenues to Poland came from Ukrainian emigrants in ‘24

According to a Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) report, Ukrainian migrants contributed PLN 15.2 billion to Poland’s budget in 2024, while receiving PLN 2.8 billion in benefits from the "Rodzina 800+" program. Ukrainians make up 5% of Poland’s workforce, mainly in industry, construction, services, and transport. Their presence has boosted Polish GDP by 0.5% to 2.4% annually since 2013.
BGK experts stress that migration supports Poland’s economy amid demographic challenges. Contrary to myths, Ukrainian migration has not driven real estate price increases, as only 2.7% of property transactions in 2023 involved Ukrainians. To retain migrants long-term, Poland must facilitate stable jobs, housing, and education access. While 43% of Ukrainian refugees wish to stay permanently, better conditions are needed to integrate them effectively.
