At least 26 people were killed and 77 were injured as a result of clashes between government forces and demonstrators, that have been taking place in Haiti since February 7. Thousands of people have taken to the street to force the resignation of President Jovenel Moise. Manifestations have became more aggrevated over time, with protesters blocking streets, plundering, looting shops and setting cars on fire. The opposition faults Moise for the economic crisis the country is experiencing.
The Haitian government has repeatedly appealed to the opposition to start a dialogue, thus far in vain, and the radical opposition factions are calling for further protests.
