Total passenger exchange at railways exceeded record 810 mln people in ‘24

In 2024, passenger rail traffic in Poland hit a record 810 million, marking the highest level ever recorded, according to UTK. The data reflects the growing importance of rail in Poland’s daily mobility. Wrocław Główny remained the busiest station, while Warsaw Central saw the largest growth (+56.8%), jumping to 4th place. Tricity stations like Gdańsk Główny and Wrzeszcz also grew significantly.
Over 60% of all passenger traffic occurred in four highly urbanized regions: Mazowieckie, Pomorskie, Dolnośląskie, and Wielkopolskie. In contrast, lower usage in eastern and central regions highlights regional disparities in rail accessibility, with just 8.3% of traffic coming from areas where 20% of the population lives.
