We met the fourth finalist in the NYX Hotel – Art Lives Here competition. It is Adrianna Gajdziszewska, an artist from Poland, who was singled out as one of six by the jury during its July deliberations and selected by Internet users to take a three-week residency at the hotel, which starts on August 22.
In addition to selecting the 3 winners, who already began their residency at the hotel yesterday, the jury pointed out the outstanding work of 6 of the remaining candidates. The "NYX Hotels – Art Lives Here" competition received a total of more than 120 applications and about 500 works. They were submitted by artists from all over the world – in addition to Poland, also from Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Romania, and Israel.
The fourth finalist in the competition will stay at NYX Hotel Warsaw later in August and will receive all the support she needs for her artistic work here – free stay, food, unlimited access to the studio, and invaluable support from mentors.
Adrianna Gajdziszewska is a graduate of art education in visual arts at the Pedagogical University in Cracow and art history at the Pontifical University in Wroclaw. Godziszewska is also the editor of the young art magazine Wczasy, organizer of cultural events and exhibitions, cultural animator, teacher, and lecturer. She creates installations, sculptures, videos, and sound art, and focuses her activities mainly on the synesthesia and intermedia aspects of contemporary art. She is interested in the process, the role of intuition and experimentation in creativity, and issues of form.
