Andrzej Duda veto to lex TVN

Andrzej Duda vetoed an amendment to the media law, known as "lex TVN", on Monday. The president referred her to the Sejm for a second break.
"It was the only sensible decision. Lex TVN's place is in the garbage can," Jan Strzeżek from the Agreement said.
"With this decision, the president saves Poland's image a little. A little, because the war that PiS has declared to the world will be difficult to withdraw," Marcin Kierwiński from KO added.
Maciej Gdula from the Left stated that "by vetoing 'lexTVN', President Duda chose to remain calm in relations with the US and decided to conflict with his own political camp.
The draft amendment to the Broadcasting Act provides for tightening of the provisions on the majority shareholding in Polish media by capital from outside the European Economic Area. If the law came into force, it would mainly affect TVN and TVN24, belonging to the American Discovery concern. On Sunday, December 19, protests were held all over Poland in defense of the station and media freedom.
