Axa leaves Poland, Czech Republic, and Slovakia

The AXA insurer announced on Friday the conclusion of an agreement with UNIQA Insurance Group AG the sale of its business in Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia.

Under the terms of the agreement, AXA will sell 100 percent of its life and savings insurance, property, and pension insurance in Central and Eastern Europe for a total of over €1 billion.

The transaction is to be finalized by the fourth quarter of 2020.

AXA Poland has approx. 3.2 million customers and employs 1,600 employees. In turn, AXA Czech Republic and Slovakia have approximately 1.6 million retail clients and employs 527 employees.
