Bank expect demand for consumer loans to increase in Q2

According to a National Bank of Poland (NBP) survey, banks plan to further ease lending criteria for households and SMEs in Q2 2025, while tightening short-term credit standards for large enterprises. In Q1, credit policy changes were modest, with relaxed conditions for consumer and SME loans due to rising competitive pressure. Demand rose for consumer and corporate loans but fell for housing loans. Looking ahead, banks expect increased demand across all loan types, especially consumer credit.
Mortgage lending terms are expected to ease, though criteria remain mostly unchanged. Consumer loans saw further easing, including higher loan limits and lower margins, with banks anticipating continued strong demand for financing durable goods.
