Poland’s offshore wind sector is entering a phase in which resilience to disinformation is becoming as important as investment decisions, financing, and supply chains. Janusz Bil, CEO of Orlen Neptun, says offshore wind is vulnerable because it is strategic, costly, and still relatively new in Poland. The most damaging myths concern high costs, alleged instability, used turbines from the West, and supposed threats to the power system.

Bil argues that Baltic Sea wind farms can strengthen energy security, diversify the energy mix, and support Polish industry. False narratives may affect public trust, reputation, regulations, and financing. He stresses that long-term education, media monitoring, cooperation with public institutions, and broad political consensus are essential to protecting the sector.
