The expansion of the Świnoujście LNG terminal, a crucial investment for Poland's energy security, is now complete. This facility can now process 8.3 billion m³ of gas annually, nearly half of Poland's natural gas demand.
The project, spanning two decades and involving seven consecutive governments, increased the terminal's regasification capacity and added new functionalities. The expansion included a third LNG storage tank, capable of holding 180,000 m³, and a new berth for flexible operations and bunkering smaller LNG vessels.
Completed despite challenges such as the pandemic and geopolitical tensions, this €430 million investment underscores Poland's strategy to diversify gas supplies, ensuring greater energy independence and access to competitive global markets.
