Migration Forum: Poland needs foreign workers and central migration management

Experts at the Migration Forum in Warsaw emphasized the need for foreign workers to sustain Poland’s economy. However, they called for centralized migration management, as it is currently divided among multiple ministries.
Anna Wicha, President of the Polish HR Forum, highlighted that over 2 million workers will leave the labor market in the next decade, impacting sectors like education (30%) and industry (11%). She suggested that social skepticism about migration would lessen if people had to choose between working until 67 or hiring migrants.
The Labor Ministry is working on the "Working and Living in Poland" project to provide foreigners with job-related information. Experts stressed that migrants contribute 5% to social security funds and rarely use social aid. They urged political leaders to acknowledge migration’s benefits and improve policy coordination across government agencies.
