PMR: dermocosmetics market increased by 13.7% y/y to over PLN 3 bln in ‘23
In 2023, Poland's dermocosmetics market surged by 13.7% y/y, exceeding PLN 3 billion, reports PMR. The growth was driven by increased sales value rather than volume, influenced by inflation. PMR forecasts predict even stronger market dynamics from 2024 to 2029, buoyed by moderated price hikes and sustained consumer demand. Despite a decline in purchases from physical pharmacies (down to 66% from 82% in 2016-2023), dermocosmetics remain predominantly associated with pharmacies, albeit with rising online sales through internet pharmacies and select retail chains.
This sector is progressively claiming a larger share of Poland's retail cosmetics market, with expectations of continued expansion due to under-penetration in both physical and online drugstore segments.
