Report: fear of costs gripping micro and small enterprises

A recent report highlights the top concerns of Polish micro and small businesses in Q1 2025. The greatest fear—reported by 37.9% of respondents—is the rising cost of running a business, followed by increasing ZUS social security contributions (30.1%) and unreliable contractors (28.3%). Loss of financial liquidity (21.2%) and tax increases (17.9%) also worry many entrepreneurs.
The survey involved 677 participants with businesses employing up to 50 people and annual revenue under €10 million. Experts warn that mounting costs, inflation, labor shortages, and unpredictable regulations threaten long-term profitability and business survival. While concerns about inspections and political instability have declined, financial instability and poor cash flow remain major stress factors.
