The EC and the US strongly criticize the adoption of lex TVN by the Polish parliament

The European Commission reacted to the rejection by the Sejm of the Senate's veto on the act referred to as lex TVN.
"Today's vote of the media law targeting the TVN Group in the Polish Sejm puts further pressure on an already troubled media sector in Poland. Once this bill becomes a law, the Commission will not hesitate to take action in case of non-compliance with EU law," Vera Jourova, Commission Vice-President, said.
The United States is also "concerned" with the passing by the Polish Sejm of a law known as lex TVN.
“Free and independent media strengthen our democracies, NATO's resilience and support our bilateral relations. We expect cooperation with the Polish government in achieving common priorities,” Ned Price, spokesman for the US Department of State, said.
The rejection of the Senate's veto means that lex TVN will now go to President Andrzej Duda.
