In the first half of 2024, the Polish beer market's sales growth remained near zero compared to the same period in the previous year, according to preliminary data from the Polish Brewers Association (ZPPP). Alcoholic beers saw a slight decline of nearly 1%, while non-alcoholic beers experienced a significant increase of over 16%. Despite expectations for a market rebound after a record drop in 2023, the decline has persisted since 2019.
Rising interest in non-alcoholic beers reflects a strong, ongoing consumer shift toward alcohol alternatives. Additionally, the industry faces challenges with new deposit return system regulations for packaging and waste, requiring significant investment and adaptation. The stability of the tax map is seen as a positive development amidst these uncertainties.
