CBOS: 39% of people aged 25-34 nesting with parents
According to new CBOS research, 39% of Poles aged 25–34 still live with their parents without forming their own household, a notable increase from 29% in 2005 and 34% in 2017. Most of these young adults are employed (83%) and financially independent (72%). The main reasons for staying at home include lack of their own housing (51%), lower living costs (42%), insufficient income (39%), and comfortable conditions in the family home (48%). Motivations differ by gender: men more often cite low income and not having a family, while women more often mention emotional ties, parental support in daily tasks, and the need to help parents.
Many respondents say living at home is their choice rather than a necessity.
