Climate activists occupy Nord Stream 2 in Germany

Activists occupied a building site 0f Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline in Germany in a protest against fossil fuel use. The demonstrators said their purpose is to delay the construction of the gas pipeline and draw attention to the damage to the climate caused by natural gas.
Police said about five activists are in inside the laid pipes. "We suspect that they are already quite far away," said a spokesman for the local police. Officers fear that the protesters may run out of oxygen.
Nord Stream 2 will deliver gas directly from Russia to Germany. The Eugal pipeline that the activists occupied is about 485 kilometers long.
