Dom Development data breach
One of Poland’s largest residential developers, Dom Development SA, has confirmed a serious cyberattack that led to the unauthorised download of customer data. The company says hackers breached its IT systems and may have accessed a wide range of personal information belonging to current, former and prospective clients.
According to Dom Development, the compromised data varies by customer but may include names, addresses, PESEL and NIP numbers, as well as details from identity documents such as ID numbers, expiry dates and issuing authorities. Financial and property-related information was also exposed, including bank account numbers, land and mortgage register details, debt status and transaction histories. Particularly sensitive data, such as marital status, parental information, shopping preferences and, in some cases, health data, may also have been affected. Data relating to authorised proxies was included as well.
The company has warned customers of heightened risks of identity theft and fraud, including attempts to obtain loans. Dom Development has notified data protection authorities, implemented additional cybersecurity measures and says its operations continue without disruption.
