Donald Tusk rules in Civic Platform again

Donald Tusk's return to Polish politics was one of the most important political topics in June since the former prime minister and head of the European Council announced in an interview with Agata Adamek on TVN24 that he was carrying such an idea. The lobbies were full of speculation how the younger generation in the Platform, which set the tone in the party since Borys Budka won the presidential election with Grzegorz Schetyna, would react to the "return of the king".
Questions were multiplied: will they stand up to Tusk, will they try to block his return, will Budka step down, what will Trzaskowski, who was about to start with the "Poland of the Future Campus" initiative, going to do? The speculations were heated by the president of Warsaw himself, who announced that if Budka resigned as chairman, he would probably run against Tusk in the internal elections in the Platform.
On Saturday, July 3, 2021, all these speculations seem to be a thing of the past – Tusk returned, enthusiastically greeted by members of the PO National Council, and made it clear that he was not going to share power with anyone. And if anything, on his own terms.
