Drought: situation has temporarily improved, claims minister

We look with some hope that it will not be the drought we expected, the situation has improved temporarily, Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski, Poland’s agriculture minister, said on May 21, on an interview for a Catholic radio station “Siódma-Dziewiąta”.
He said there were fears that the lack of snowy winter and rain from the beginning of spring would not let the plants grow and that they would dry in fields. He emphasized that it was also important that there were no “very heavy” rains that could destroy crops. The minister estimated that the situation had temporarily improved.
