Expert: 2026 may be time of stagnation in EV market
The Polish electric vehicle market is expected to maintain its 2025 sales volumes in 2026, but further growth will be difficult without a new subsidy program, says Bartosz Chojnacki, Vice President of Superauto. Nearly 46,000 electric cars were registered in Poland in 2025, a 177% increase year on year, largely driven by the “NaszEauto” subsidy scheme. Its conclusion is likely to reduce the attractiveness of offers, even with high discounts and flexible financing, leading to a temporary drop in interest among private buyers and sole traders who had accelerated purchases ahead of the program’s end.
In contrast, demand from corporate fleets is expected to grow in 2026, supported by more favorable tax deductions for zero-emission vehicles. Experts also foresee a revival of the city car segment, driven by affordable small electric models, including Chinese brands, and a growing trend toward owning compact EVs as second household cars.
