Future Tech Poland launched
Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) and the European Investment Fund (EIF) have agreed to launch Future Tech Poland (FTP), a new PLN 5 billion fund designed to fill the venture-capital financing gap for technology companies.
BGK will contribute PLN 1 billion and the EIF PLN 0.5 billion, with the remaining capital leveraged through VC instruments. The fund aims to support 150-200 tech firms, with a substantial share going to Polish entrepreneurs. Investments will span seed, start-up, later-stage venture and growth-capital phases across Central and Eastern Europe. Decisions are expected in the first quarter of this year, and the program is scheduled for full implementation by end-2027.
FTP is part of the government’s Innovate Poland initiative, which has a first-phase budget of PLN 4 billion supported by PFR, BGK, EIF and PZU. BGK president Mirosław Czekaj said the fund responds to exhausted growth drivers and an estimated PLN 24 billion investment gap in venture and growth capital. The EIF will manage the fund.
