Expert: housing construction will turn out better in ‘25 than ‘24
Poland’s 2025 housing construction results are on track to outperform 2024, which was the weakest year since 2018, according to Otodom’s Katarzyna Kuniewicz. October data from the Central Statistical Office showed a clear recovery only in one area: completed homes. The number of units delivered rose 13 percent y/y, while new building starts fell 13.1 percent y/y and building permits dropped 12.1 percent. Developers have sharply reduced activity, and rising output in municipal and social housing remains too small to offset the decline.
From January to October, 164,200 homes were completed, up 1% from 2024. Despite strong October completion numbers, the full-year total will likely fall short of the 2020–2023 average and remain around 205,000 units.
