Government plans up to PLN 23 billion for reconstruction in flooded areas
The Polish government plans to allocate up to PLN 23 billion for the reconstruction of flood-affected areas, as announced by Marcin Kierwiński, the government’s plenipotentiary for post-flood rebuilding. This funding will include domestic resources and reallocated funds from European programs.
The main priorities are rebuilding essential infrastructure like roads and providing support to affected families. Additionally, the Ministry of Sports has earmarked around PLN 400 million to restore sports facilities in these regions, which is essential for returning normalcy to flood-hit areas. The rebuilt infrastructure is expected to meet higher standards to ensure its durability and resilience in the future.
