By the end of 2023, Poland's housing stock reached 15.6 million apartments, according to the Central Statistical Office (GUS). These apartments contained 60.5 million rooms, with 67.8% located in urban areas. The five largest cities—Warsaw, Krakow, Łódź, Wrocław, and Poznań—accounted for 24.3% of the country's housing resources, though they housed 20.3% of the urban population.
The average apartment size in Poland was 75.5 m², an increase of 0.2 m² from 2022, with rural apartments being 32.9 m² larger than urban ones. By the end of 2023, municipalities had 24.4 thousand hectares designated for residential construction, with 75.8% allocated to single-family homes.
