The workforce participation rate among working-age Ukrainians in Poland is approximately 78%, slightly lower than the 81% rate for Polish citizens, according to Deputy Minister Sebastian Gajewski. Around 60% of Ukrainians work under civil contracts, 30% under employment contracts, and a small percentage through other arrangements, such as self-employment.
Approximately 780,000 Ukrainians regularly contribute to Poland’s social security system (ZUS), accounting for 5% of the Social Insurance Fund’s (FUS) revenue. In 2024, 284,000 applications for the 800+ child benefit program were submitted by Ukrainian citizens, with payments totaling PLN 2.8 billion, representing 4.2% of total benefits. This highlights Ukrainians' significant economic and social contributions in Poland.
