Loneliness and Social Divisions Intensify Among Poles

Despite unprecedented access to communication technologies, a significant portion of Polish society experiences increasing loneliness and social isolation. Recent studies reveal that 68 percent of Poles feel lonely, while 90 percent are weary of growing societal divisions. In response, T-Mobile Polska has launched the #BurzymyBariery (#BreakingBarriers) initiative, aiming to foster genuine dialogue and dismantle communication barriers.
"We realized we need to more clearly communicate our values—supporting diversity and countering hate and discrimination. We want to be seen as a purpose-driven company, not just a telecom service provider," Andreas Maierhofer, CEO of T-Mobile Polska, said.
Research indicates that while 25 percent of young people spend over five hours online daily to avoid loneliness, digital interactions often lack depth, leading to misinterpretations and conflicts.
