The Ministry of Digitization announced on Monday the release of updated technological standards for the Information System for Access to Fixed Broadband Internet Services (SIDUSIS). These changes aim to clarify responsibility for data accuracy. Entities managing over 50,000 address points must adopt the new standards by October 18, 2024, while smaller entities have until November 10, 2024.
The updates also include the requirement to specify whether services at a given address can be provided on the entity's own infrastructure or another operator's. SIDUSIS, a free database, provides information on broadband availability in Poland, helping to reduce coverage gaps, known as "white spots." The updates detail technological solutions and data-sharing formats for users.
