A fair energy transformation, appropriate compensation and emphasizing the difficult starting point for Poland are the main messages of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during the COP25 climate conference, which is now starting in Madrid.
“It is clear to everyone that Poland has its goals to achieve, that the cost of the transformation must be fairly distributed and our demands must also be met so that we can talk about further reduction goals when it comes to reducing CO2 emissions. We have our very difficult starting point, characteristic for Poland only due to our dependence on coal, and this starting point must be taken into account,” Morawiecki said.
Negotiations at the COP25 climate summit in Madrid are a continuation of what happened last year during the COP24 summit in Katowice.
