According to a Smart Solutions report, Ukrainians remain the largest group of foreign workers in Poland, but their share is gradually declining. Meanwhile, the number of Colombian workers has surged, with a 352% increase in work permits between 2023 and 2024. Over the past few years, the Colombian population in Poland has grown nearly 50-fold, and in 2024, 3,000 Colombians received residence permits.
Another rapidly growing group is Filipinos, who received 20,500 work permits in early 2024, up from 13,000 in 2023. Western European competition and labor shortages are driving Polish employers to hire more workers from South America and Asia, as they quickly adapt, speak English well, and excel in sectors like production, logistics, and services. Smart Solutions highlights this shift as a strategic response to Poland’s labor market needs.
