PGNiG, the Polish state-controlled oil and gas company, estimates the cost of building 1,500-2,000 biogas plants in Poland at PLN 70 billion within 10 years, informed the head of PGNiG Jerzy Kwieciński.
It does not rule out that some of the biogas plants will be built by PGNiG itself, but the main investors will be private companies and local governments.
PGNiG expects that by 2025 approximately 1.5 billion cubic meters of biomethane will be injected into the group’s gas network. In 2030, there should already be approximately 4 billion cubic meters of biomethane in the PGNiG network.
